Dave Wells is a songwriter from the Hunter Valley, who's quickly garnering a word-of-mouth reputation as one of the region’s best performers.
His impressive 2014 debut EP, 'Carrington Street', a heartfelt rumination about growing up in Maitland, suggested a writer adept in penning songs that creep up on you and cut deep.
Dave is currently locked away in the studio to conjure a debut studio record with live previews of tracks like 'Picasso's Cloud' and 'Run Free' indicating he is crafting a mesmerising collection for this new release.

Dave is part of Dashville's Australian Music Week showcase alongside William Crighton, Terra Lightfoot, Melody Pool and Magpie Diaries.
Ahead of the show, Dave shares five morning thoughts.
1. Morning Rituals
There’s something about each of us that involves a certain morning ritual to get us into gear. For some it’s a dart and a coffee, for others it’s a couple of slices of toast or just a self-inflicted slap across the face with H2O.
2. Snow peas
I don’t know what it is about snow peas, but they can seriously float one's sensory boat. I mean, top and tail those little crispy suckers and lay them down on a well-buttered piece of toast with some S&P. Boom!
3. Dreams
Was it a parallel world? Or did you just travel to a deep part of your subconscious psyche? Or was it just fragments of images and emotions floating around the memory bank, looking for a comfortable place to reside. I like REM, but I hate failing to remember a dream.
4. What’s the story?
Morning glory is a type of native flower. Cats spend two thirds of their life sleeping and giraffes only need 1.9 hours of sleep a day. Oh, and apparently 12 per cent of us only dream in black and white, including Tony Abbott.
5. Toasty idea
A sudden, creative brain-snap to incorporate fresh raspberries on a piece of buttered toast. Great idea right? They now rest on a nearby slice of toast with honey, double boom!
Dashville Does The Monkey showcase at Australian Music Week takes place at The Brass Monkey (Sydney) 2 November.
