Self-taught Melbourne singer-songwriter Joel James has busked his way from the streets to a range of YouTube video covers and a debut EP release 'I'm A Fool', which features the single 'Still Around'.
Ahead of an appearance at Buskers By The Creek on the Gold Coast this month, Joel shares 5 of his favourite pirates.

1. Jack Sparrow
Isn't Jack Sparrow everyone's favourite pirate? We've all fallen in love with him. Although he is a little crazy, nearly always drunk and the master of self-promotion and self-interest, there's just something about him that makes him so likeable. 2. Will Turner

3. Henry Every
On a serious note, the story of this guy is cool. I don't know much about him, but from what I do know he was a pirate for about two years, was successful in a number of big heists and retired with all his treasure.Dubbed 'The King Of Pirates' there’s this myth going around that his loot and treasure is still hidden somewhere today.

4. The Pirate Bay
Ooooh I went there! No, I'm not big on the whole torrenting thing. But back in the day, when I was in high school and had no money, I needed some music software to help with a project. Let's just say The Pirate Bay helped me out a little.When I did finally scrounge up some money though, I bought all the software that I had 'borrowed' and paid the developers what they deserved. Don't torrent and drive kids.
