5 Australian Animals With Archer

Archer

In 2015, Archer is a true rarity.

His weathered blues are his stories - harvested from the raw distance that passes under his heels. Archer’s songs follow the seams of Australia’s highways and railways, songs driven by a restless and pure geography. A craft honed under the open sky - from Murray River picking crews to the remote northern reaches of the Australian continent.

Ahead of his appearance at AWME, Archer has compiled a list of his favourite, Australian animals.

Tree Kangaroo

Maybe in 50 million years they’ll be tree-gliding kangaroos if humans don’t wipe them out first – shout out to the giant, extinct kangaroo that walked on two legs and had a developed frontal brain like humans and apes.

Tree Kangaroo

Long-billed Corella

Funnier than any human I’ve met. Red Baron... I love and miss you every day.

Corella

Bark Beetle Grubs

Greatest artists in Australia – pretty cool to be able to metamorphose.

Wombat

Not backwards in coming forwards – got a pretty fast gallop and can get their poo on impossibly high stuff; getting home to turn on your flat-screen TV isn’t as important as a wombat's life – and I would probably slow down if I saw a person/ you on the road.

The Human Being

Has potential.

The 8th AWME 2015 will take place from 12-14 November at various locations in Melbourne including the Arts Centre Melbourne, Max Watts, Shebeen, The Toff, Ding Dong Lounge. Click here for the full list of performers and speakers.
