Professional tennis has witnessed some pretty funny things interrupt matches in the past.
There was that time in 2014 when Caroline Wozniacki got her braid caught in her tennis racket. Or at the Japan Open when a fan fell asleep and Marco Chiudinelli paused the game to wake the offending party up.
But sexual moaning during a game maybe a first.
A recent tennis match in the US was interrupted by a boisterous bout of love-making. Frances Tiafoe was playing Mitchell Krueger in Florida as part of the ATP Challenger Tour when mid-way through the second set the players (and crowd) began to overhear loud moaning.
A TV commentator covering the match initially assumed someone in the stand was playing an adult video on a phone.
But after a couple of minutes of the continued moaning, the players realised it was coming from an apartment across the lake from the venue. “It can’t be that good,” Tiafoe was heard saying.
Tiafoe's performance was unaffected, as he went on to win the match in straight sets 6-3 6-2. Just another example of tennis bringing joy to the masses. Game, set and match.
