WOMADelaide is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2017, and today the full Planet Talks programme has been announced by UniSA.
Carmel Johnston, the Crew Commander of University of Hawaii's 365-day Mars Simulation mission, will host a discussion about their project.
In a collaborative study between University of Hawaii and NASA, Carmel and five others simulated living on Mars for a whole year, in a secret Hawaiian location.
This particular session will be led by ABC Science Broadcasting legend Robyn Williams.
The forum will also welcome US-based Kyle Wiens, a cult hero of the right to repair movement. He's co-founder and CEO of iFixit, an online community that represents a 'free repair guide for everything, written by everyone'.
Kyle will be joined by UNSW's Professor of Materials Science and former ABC TV 'New Inventors' judge Veena Sahajwalla, as well as UniSA's reverse logistics expert Nick Chileshe.
Alongside these talks is a special live conversation between ABC Local Radio's Richard Fidler and Sir Tim Smit, the founder of the UK's most famous eco tourism destination 'The Eden Project'.
There are other Planet Talks sessions over the WOMADelaide weekend, and they can all be found here.
