This weekend, Fortitude Valley will awaken with music, food and art as Valley Fiesta returns (23-25 October).
Valley Fiesta is back for another year, encapsulating the entire Valley Entertainment Precinct. The free, all-ages event brings together a line-up of talented musicians including acts: Alpine, Last Dinosaurs, Art vs Science, Gypsy & The Cat, Asta, Kilter, Paces, Luke Million, Resin Dogs, Young Franco, The Cairos, and many more.
The music doesn't end there, though, with Valley Fiesta's Live & Local competition giving Brisbane musicians a shot at a paid set at the festival. Local talent will also be on display at the Queensland Music Awards showcase, with 2015 winners highlighted: Halfway, WAAX, Michelle Xen, Electrik Lemonade and Leanne Tennant.
However, it's not all about the music at this year's Valley Fiesta. The cosy chic of the Valley's laneways will be on display with Valley Fiesta's Laneway Series: Winn Lane will be filled with pop-up markets, bars, food stalls and performances; Bakery Lane will host an intimate banquet followed by a raucous, block party; and Revelry Laneway Fiesta will see the creation of a pop-up laneway with coffee, markets and a carpark turned into an urban playground featuring games, lounges, bar and an outdoor cinema.

The Valley's extensive range of culinary delights will also be out in force at the Fiesta Feast, a licensed area in the Chinatown Mall that features local restaurants showcasing their signature dishes, with a competition to decide who'll be crowned Fiesta winner.

Valley Pride will fill the Chinatown Mall with a fun and fabulous stage show celebrating the LGBTI community, while pop-up podiums will see street performers scattered throughout the suburb, live-street art will be created by local and international artists at The Flying Cock, and a photography fiesta will showcase the Valley as seen by Brisbane's best photographers.
