The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel and The Wheatsheaf Hotel are the first venues to be inducted into the SA Music Hall Of Fame.
The Gov and The Wheaty – both incidentally operated by women – were inducted last Wednesday 14th December in 'recognition for supporting South Australian live original music'.

The Adelaide Music Collective (AMC) which oversees the Hall Of Fame is a Collective of Adelaide artists/associated professionals with national and international experience in the music industry. The South Australian Music Hall Of Fame was founded by Adelaide radio identity David 'Daisy' Day. It celebrates the careers of successful music industry personalities while creating networks and relationships with emerging talent of the South Australian music scene.
Jo Tonkin told 'Today Tonight' of Keith Urban's proud boast of playing The Gov before playing over the road at the Entertainment Centre, while it's a bitter sweet honour for the The Wheaty being awarded the historic recognition just months after co-owner Emily Trott passed away from an aggressive form of cancer earlier this year.
Past individual inductees in the Hall Of Fame include Doc Neeson, Adam Hills, Glenn Shorrock, Mark Holden, Archie Roach, Ruby Hunter, Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss.
