This year's TEDxSouthBankWomen encourages women to power change in their communities.
Running under the theme of "Positive Disruption", the programme features 21 speakers, including international names alongside some of Australia's most influential female voices.
Triple J presenter Zan Rowe hosts the event while ABC Nightlife regular Fabian Dattner talks about women's leadership and social commentator Clementine Ford questions traditional notions of femininity.
The event is held at the State Library of Queensland but recordings of each talk will be made available for viewers around the world to watch via the TED website.
TED began as a four-day conference in California 26 years ago and now stages initiatives around the world.
The non-profit organisation seeks to inspire people to change their lives through positive action.
TEDxSouthBankWomen is at the State Library of Queensland on Saturday December 7 2013.
