Iconic Australian brand Mannys Music has been acquired by SoundBay Pty Ltd, the operator of Australia’s largest DJ and production retailer, Store DJ.
Mannys Music in Fitzroy, Melbourne, was started 20 years ago by Manny Gauci-Seddon after managing Allan’s City store for a decade. The onset of the internet age witnessed Mannys Music fall behind in terms of technology and process, however during the past 10 years Store DJ has changed the way DJs, producers and installers purchase audio and lighting equipment. Store DJ has grown from a small online business run out of a garage to a world-class online and bricks and mortar retail network.
SoundBay owner Jeremy Leitch commented - “Our Mission for Mannys Music is to ensure that our customers have the ultimate experience online or in our store. This will require a redesign of the current systems, processes and store layout and we are excited about delivering this over the course of the next 6 months”.
SoundBay now has 60 staff members including veteran Mannys Music staff - Steve, Chris and Dave plus a host of backend staff who have a passion for customer service. Mannys claim it will now deliver the most advanced and streamlined online ordering process, competitive pricing and the largest range of musical instruments, lighting, staging, studio and DJ Equipment. It will also be retaining its successful Music School.
