scenestr mag to launch Sydney Street Press

Founder and Publisher. Based in Brisbane.
Howard started Scene Magazine in 1993. Paul Keating was Prime Minister. Whitney, Janet and Mariah all had Aussie #1s and Mark Zuckerberg was 9. Over 30 years he's overseen the growth of scenestr magazine to become Australia's largest – and only national – street press while forging a digital-first imperative for the title in the mid-naughties. He's judged more battle of the bands than he cares to remember and proud of the myriad media partnerships the company has earned across the music, arts and comedy sectors. He likes Star Trek and a good Oxford Comma – way too much fun at parties.

scenestr magazine will launch a New South Wales edition next month.

The title will complement the existing stable of the market-leading street press with scenestr (QLD) and scenestr (SA), The digital-first company also publishes the national music arts andcomedy portal scenestr.com.au and more recently scenestr tv. scenestr (NSW) will maintain the A4, all-gloss, monthly, free-on-the-street format popular in S.E. Queensland and South Australia.

The scenestr titles are collectively unique with one owner since inception in 1993. Founding director and publisher, Howard Duggan, said, "apart from an eclectic music offering, scenestr offers very strong arts and comedy editorial – we're confident we can find a receptive niche in Australia's largest market".

Publishing in NSW is not new to the company which published Junior Magazine in 2010-11. Junior was distributed around Australia and featured permanent columnists including 'the guru' Molly Meldrum and other high-profile contributors with a national CAB audit of 85,000 copies per month.
