All eyes will be on the Brisbane skies as Sunsuper Riverfire makes a dazzling return to the river city as part of Brisbane Festival.
The event, which has been a part of Brisbane Festival’s programme since 1998, will take place on 25 September, serving as a glittering crescendo to the festival, especially bright after a dark 2020 saw a halting of Riverfire due to COVID-19.
“It’s a signature, stand-out event for Brisbane which has everyone talking,” Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says. “A wonderful, dazzling night of nights that I and 500,000 spectators so look forward to every year.”
“The fireworks and the Brisbane Festival are wonderful ways to celebrate the return of spring.”
“People can start planning now to secure a prime position along the riverside for one of Brisbane’s favourite nights,” Minister For The Arts Leeanne Enoch says. “Brisbane Festival 2021 will be a time to celebrate all things Queensland, showcase our home-grown talent and help spread some joy through the power of the arts.”
Riverfire will be choreographed to a specially-curated playlist, simulcast on Triple M radio.
Sunsuper Riverfire takes place on 25 September. Brisbane Festival is on from 3-25 September.
