‘GTA’ fans rejoice. . . The decade-long wait is almost over.

The internet has been swirling with rumours about the next ‘Grand Theft Auto’ game for years now, and the global hype was kicked up to 11 when early gameplay footage spilled across the web last year. When Rockstar confirmed the footage was indeed from the next instalment of the iconic franchise due to a ‘network intrusion’, things got very real.

Well, now things are as real as they can get – early this week, articles began to surface and buzz began to hum about a possible announcement of ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ with Rockstar celebrating its 25th anniversary in December. Turns out, it’s all true.

Rockstar Games made a post on social media reflecting on their milestone anniversary – its President Sam Houser praising fans across the globe: “Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about – without you, none of this would be possible.”

Sam closed out the statement with the words gamers have been waiting to hear for a decade: “We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next ‘Grand Theft Auto’.”

The final wait for the next instalment of one of the biggest game franchises of all time, is almost over.
