A collection of music business students from the Central Institute of Technology are set to launch their record label, Richmond Street Records, at The Bird on Monday 5th November.
The upcoming label is to be run by the students in the second half of every year and is fully funded through the college.
Past graduates of this prestigious course have gone on to successfully fill many roles in the WA music scene from managing big name bands to running thriving indie labels and everything in between. This year’s group are already making a big splash, showing full potential as they intertwine their passion and career with many students landing jobs before they’ve even graduated.
Assisting the launch of the label is a great gathering of local talents including the solo venture of Empty from the Empty Cup, Saint Ravine and Belle Harvey. Each artist is relevant to the college and will bring their own brand of positive, soul-tingling and cruisey tunes.
Joining them on the night will be two more bands, Found Trinity and Slinky J, both from the Central Institute’s Music Performance course. As further celebration of the label launch, audience members will score an exclusive, unreleased double-A-side single from these two bands.
Entry is only $5 (including the bonus CD), doors open at 7pm so come show your support and party with the freshest talent this side of the Nullabor.
