"I've never been so happy to see red and blue lights!"
A story that could easily be filed under 'only in Australia', Central Queensland tradie 'Jimmy' was delighted when he was recently pulled over by the boys in blue after they spotted him "fanging" down the Dawson Highway (he was clocked at 123km/h in a 100km/h zone). When the police officer approached Jimmy's ute, the Gladstone man informed him: "A brown snake or a tiger snake, it's in the back of the ute. It was in the ute with me, I think it's bitten me."
The clearly shaken Jimmy had encountered his slithery travel companion when it entered the vehicle through the gearstick, wrapping itself around Jimmy's legs. Shivers! He used his seatbelt and a knife to fight off his scaly opponent.
