ANZ comes out... as GAYNZ.
This isn't a paid-for piece, it's just an awesome move on ANZ's part. The bank is celebrating their 10th anniversary of sponsorship for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras with a public display of support. In all its pastle pride, ANZ's Oxford Street branch – at the heart of the Mardi Gras parade in Darlinghurst – has been reimagined inside and out as a GAYNZ.
The baroque-inspired wonderland features two GAYTMs, ornate walls, a marbled floor and 16 unique, hand-painted murals inspired by the LGBTI+ community. Think Elton John: playful, flamboyant and fun! Plus, PENGUINS in pink marble.
Four GAYTMs have also returned to the George and Pitt Street branches. And avoiding throwing shade at non-ANZ cardholders, GAYTM operator fees will once again be donated to Twenty10, a not-for-profit organisation working with and supporting people of diverse genders, sexes and sexualities, their families and communities.
Builders worked around-the-clock since Friday afternoon to get the refurb done in time for this morning's extravaganza eleganza reveal.

Mark Hand, Chair of ANZ's Australia Division Diversity Council says diversity, inclusion and respect is an important part of what they do.
“Over the past few years we have had an incredible response to our GAYTMs, so it was only natural to take things to a new level to celebrate the milestone. GAYNZ is often used to describe us at Mardi Gras and we thought transforming the Oxford Street branch and naming it GAYNZ was a fitting way to demonstrate our continued support for the LGBTI community.”
Kudos to YAAAAAANZ.
