People have six weeks to be part of National Tree Day.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of National Tree Day – Australia's biggest tree-planting and nature care event.
Co-Ordinated by Planet Ark – best known for their recycling campaigns 'National Recycling Week and 'Cartridges 4 Planet Ark', the not-for-profit environmental organisation is urging as many Australians as possible to join in the largest tree-planting event of the year.
More than 3 million people have participated in Nation Tree Day since the inception of the event and a staggering 21 million seedlings have been planted — and an average of 300,000 people participate in the event each year, which takes place at more than 3,000 sites across the county.
Participating in National Tree Day gives people the chance to connect with nature and make a positive difference, not only for their local community, but for the planet as a whole.
