Big Day Out has hosted some weirdness on its stages over the years, but 2013 is set to feature one show that will outdo anything musicians can bring.
Wrestling.
Mexican wrestling.
Masked Mexican wrestling, with burlesque dancing in between fights.
Not even joking.
Depending on your nature, this may be the best news ever, or completely ridiculous trash. If you fall in the first camp, let me elaborate further on the awesomeness. The show is entitled Lucha VaVOOM and has been described by The Huffington Post as “a raucous and irreverent extravaganza of burlesque, comedy and classic Mexican luchadore wrestling” and by Jack Black as “the shit”.
The acrobatic insanity, inspired by 1960s Mexican Lucha cinema, only pauses for the hula-hooping, pogoing burlesque ladies. If the Big Day Out lineup wasn't enough, here's that extra excitement you were looking for.
