Literature Lovers Get Ready

Lifeline Bookfest
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and some beyond.

Get your tote, purse, Indiana Jones satchel, turtle backpack, suitcase, trolley or carrier of your choice ready. It's Bookfest time.

For the Queen's birthday, the Lifeline Bookfest is offering literature lovers the gift of books with more than two million pre-loved books from as little as $1 each. Over four kilometres of tables will showcase books from all genres, as well as a vast array of CDs, puzzles, vinyl, stationary and even cassette tapes for those who are retro in that obnoxious '90s kid way (who knows, they may experience a vinyl-style revival...but probably not.)

The Bookfest is held in South Brisbane over the Queen's Birthday long weekend, with an extra day added on the Tuesday for hardcore thrifters. All proceeds from sales support Lifeline and UnitingCare Community programs for individuals, families, women and children, and volunteers are always needed.

The Lifeline Bookfest runs from June 8-11 at the Exhibition and Convention Centre.
