Jetstar Flushed Over Drug Advice

Lloyd Bridges as drug addled McCroskey in 'Flying High'.

Jetstar has apologised after a crew member advised Splendour in the Grass festivalgoers to dump their drugs before landing in Sydney.

Some passengers on the flight out of the Gold Coast on Sunday night had been at the Byron Bay festival when the crew member issued a public announcement, according to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald. The flight attendant said sniffer dogs and quarantine officers were waiting at the domestic terminal and advised them to flush "anything you shouldn't have" down the toilet.

Jetstar denied they had added new meaning to the term Flying High and that the dope behind the mike had made a hash of company policy.

Jetstar says the staff member was complying with a requirement that airlines make quarantine announcements, but the crew member's words were "poorly chosen and plainly at odds with the professional standards we'd expect from our team" and would be reprimanded.
