Forbes' awaited list of the world's highest-paid actresses in 2016 has confirmed the odds truly are in Jennifer Lawrence's favour.
For the second consecutive year the movie star cleared the title by miles, pocketing $17 million more than second-ranked Melissa McCarthy.
The majority of Lawrence's impressive earnings ($60 million dollars pretax) consist largely of a profit slice from her final 'Hunger Games' instalment, while the remainder was raked in by a mammoth upfront fee for the forthcoming film 'Passengers'.
Melissa McCarthy cleared $43 million for the year, a whopping $13 million more than her 2015 estimate thanks to a reported eight-figure payout for 'Ghostbusters'. She out-earned Scarlett Johansson by $10 million, who still sits pretty at third on the list.
Unsurprisingly, Jennifer Aniston closely follows, reaping $27 million over the last twelve months.
But an unrecognisable (and questionably real) name graces the list as fifth highest-earning. Despite our initial confusion, Fan Bingbing is apparently a big-time star in China, even conquering the Forbes China Celebrity List from 2013-2015.
The remaining top ten for 2016 include:
Chalize Theron, $21.6 million
Amy Adams, $17.6 million
Julia Roberts, $14 million
Mila Kunis, $14 million
Deepika Padukone, $13 million
