British actress Dame Diana Rigg has died, age 82.

Diana never retired from acting, appearing in television as recently as this year. She rose to fame in 1960s cult TV show 'The Avengers', before appearing as Teresa di Vecenzo (James Bond's wife) in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' (1969), and more recently the iconic 'Game Of Thrones' as Olenna Tyrell.

"My Beloved Ma died peacefully in her sleep early this morning, at home, surrounded by family," Diana's daughter, actress Rachael Stirling, said in a statement. "She died of cancer diagnosed in March, and spent her last months joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter and a deep pride in her profession."

"I will miss her beyond words."

Diana received Emmy, Tony and BAFTA Awards throughout her active career in the arts, which spanned more than 60 years.

"We are very sad to hear of the passing of Dame Diana Rigg," a tweet from the official 'James Bond' Twitter account reads, "the legendary stage and screen actress who was much beloved by Bond fans for her memorable performance as Tracy di Vicenzo in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the only woman to have married James Bond."

Meanwhile, the 'Games Of Thrones' Twitter kept their tribute short and sweet: "Be a dragon. The realm will always remember Diana Rigg."
