Shortly after arrival, the first platter arrives — tuna salad rolls, chicken karage rolls, chicken avo and seared salmon on rice with Japanese mayo. The sushi is fresh and diverse and with the promise of all you can eat, this table of hungry punters tear through the first course in seconds.
Next are the steamed Gyoza and spring rolls; a selection of pork, prawn and vegetarian dumplings and spring rolls served hot enough to burn your face off. Again, the second course is devoured at break-neck speed and enjoyed so much a further platter is requested — then ravaged.
If it had been known a third course was coming, perhaps the second platter of Gyoza would've proven unnecessary, but this knowledge came too late as a plate of Japanese chicken meatballs, teriyaki chicken pieces and crispy chicken with mustard arrived on the table.
With two Asahis, a bunch of sushi and countless Gyoza already under the (bulging) belt, the final platter proved a difficult, though delicious, task.
Almost too bloated to move, the table finally disbanded with a collective satisfaction, not wanting to even look at sushi again — well, maybe not until next Wednesday, that is.
Zuri Bar & Dining (1/367 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley) serves up All You Can Eat Sushi every Wednesday night from 5:30pm.
