Ellen Page has come out as gay at a LGBT conference.
The 26-year-old 'X-Men' star affirmed her orientation while speaking at the Time to Thrive conference earlier today, saying she's "tired of hiding".
The Canadian told the audience she felt a personal obligation and social responsibility to the LGBT community to be honest. "Maybe I can help others to have an easier time," she said. "I am tired of hiding."
The actress can stop running from gay rumours which have pursiued her since her role in 'Juno'.
The then-21-year-old decided to poke fun at the speculation through a skit on Saturday Night Live, where she arrived home from a Melissa Etheridge concert and raved about her "newfound attraction" to women, while her puzzled boyfriend insisted she had "gone gay".
