Dylan Bradley Castle was jailed for 4½ years for a vicious and unprovoked attack outside The Victory Hotel in Brisbane's CBD.

25-year-old Castle bashed two men, aged 64 and 73 for being "too old to be out", The Courier Mail reports. Castle pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and the serious assault of the two men last July.

Judge Terry Martin released security-camera footage of the assault declaring it in the public interest to have it broadcast as it clearly showed the “forceful and ugly nature of the attack”. The two men were in Brisbane for cancer treatment and received broken bones from the cowardly from-behind attack.

“You cannot escape responsibility for your actions when voluntarily intoxicated by mind-addling illicit drugs, you must have had insight into your capacity to be violent,” he said. He set parole eligibility for January 2, 2015, after 305 days in pre-sentence custody.
