NBA megastar Derrick Rose is headed to Australia next month.
The 2011 NBA MVP and 2009 NBA Rookie Of The Year will touch down in Sydney and Melbourne for exclusive speaking engagements in both cities as well as conducting training camps designed for young, budding basketball players.Currently a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, the point guard began his NBA career with his home town Chicago Bulls, propelling that franchise to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2010-2011 season.
Known for his defensive tenacity and calm demeanour on-court that has made him a clutch performer, Rose is also a cult figure of the NBA having playing stints with New York Knicks (twice), Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons.
"I can't wait to get down under this August," enthuses Rose. "This will be my first trip to Australia and I'm excited to run the training camps for the kids over there and talk with the fans at the speaking events."
The speaking events will feature Rose discussing tips for success, offering unplugged and uncensored conversations about his life, his setbacks with injuries and how he overcame them.
