One of the staples of Brisbane's West End for more than a decade, bar, eatery and live-music venue Lock'n'Load will close its doors in early September ahead of a "new, exciting venture".
But the West End institution won't depart quietly, with a massive two weeks of celebrations planned leading to a final encore event on 10 September. "We’ve finally realised it’s time to grow up, West End is changing and so we’re changing along with it," Lock'n'Load said in a statement.
"We don’t do things by halves, which is why – throughout the remainder of August and early days of September – we'll be waving farewell the only way we know how with hours of killer live music, hectolitres of cold brews and more tasty morsels than our kitchen crew wants to make.
"Then, on Sunday the 10th of September, we’ll be throwing one final encore before the curtain closes on Lock’n’Load, and a new, exciting venture begins!"
So come and celebrate ten years of good times, sore heads and hazy Mondays during the last two weeks of Lock'n'Load (142 Boundary Street, West End).
