Brera Nightclub Forces Plebs To Stay Away

Founder and Publisher. Based in Brisbane.
Howard launched 'Scene Magazine' in 1993. Paul Keating was Prime Minister. Whitney, Janet and Mariah all had Aussie #1s and Mark Zuckerberg was 9. Over 30 years he's overseen the growth of scenestr to become Australia's largest – and only national – street press while forging a digital-first imperative in the mid-naughties. Social media remains a complete mystery to him. He's been spotted at raves, hip hop concerts, Motown revivals, judged battle of the bands, shot video for opening night and national awards red carpet, partnered with music industry showcases, comedy festivals and myriad other cultural productions ... and he interviewed Eddie Izzard. He likes Star Trek and a good Oxford comma — way too much fun at parties.

Perth's new Brera Nightclub has opened with a policy to prevent plebs from entering.

The re-badged and re-furbed Gold Bar in Subiaco was declared a pleb-free zone by new part-owner Terrence Borgioli. The menswear designer told 'Perth Now' he was aiming to attract a fashionable, well-heeled clientele. "The odd $5,000 bar tab isn't uncommon around town and I would prefer for clients to feel safe and comfortable enough to be dropping it in style," he said.

The owner had previously told the newspaper "Stay away, plebs!" The club launched on Saturday and according to Mr Borgioli two plebs wearing baggy jeans, hoodies and backpacks made two attempts to enter the venue before security intervened.

Not surprisingly the Brera Facebook Page has already been targeted for some light-hearted trolling with Joshua Lofstrom adding a five-star review:
"Oh maen, what a palace!! So happy, will probs neva eva goes newere els eva ex oh ex oh. On my own, and the dee floor still wasn't big enough for my moves."
