Adelaide Roller Derby Announces 2018 Season

The 2018 Adelaide Roller Derby season commences this weekend (7 April).
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

The first whistle of the 2018 Adelaide Roller Derby Season will be blown this Saturday (7 April) at the Adelaide Showground.

Opening the season is a must-see grudge match, pitting reigning champs Salty Dolls against their 2017 Grand Final opposition Mile Die Club.

The Sultry Sirens of Salty Dolls will stop at nothing to keep the wind in their sails, but the Frequent Flyers from Mile Die Club could still claw their way to an underdog victory.

Punters are sure to have a great day at the “bout”, with a free-flowing bar, food available, and off-track entertainment provided by Juliette Seizure and the Tremor-Dolls.

With derby names like Toxic Mossy, Mad Squeelz Milz and Sin and Tonic, first-time visitors might come for the puns and aggressive-kitsch of the sport. But they’ll stay for the empowering, positive community on and off the track.

Stellar trackside commentary is dealt out by the sparkly yet snarky Little Commie Bastards, and plenty of room is available for little skaters to test out their skills with safety gear.

The Road Train Rollers and Wild Hearses will come out to play later in the season, which runs until August.

Tickets are available on the door or online.
