As the winter chill deepens, for those looking to follow the heat and escape the cold Balance Croatia offers intrepid travellers and music lovers alike a feast for the senses.
With a stacked line-up including the reformed Deep Dish and SOS (Desyn, Omid, Demi) alongside breaks legends Stanton Warriors and Adam Freeland as well as heroes of the scene James Zabiela, Patrice Bäumel and Just Her, the inaugural Balance Croatia will be home to 5,000 revellers enjoying three stages across three days and nights.With lavish servings of progressive and melodic house, breaks, breakbeat, techno and cutting edge electronic music, Balance Croatia takes place at The Garden Resort in Tisno (in southern Croatia) from 8-11 August, 2025.
There are a number of Aussie artists headed to play Balance Croatia including Balance Series alumni and all-round legend, Anthony Pappa.
The veteran Melbourne DJ-producer is keen to escape the winter chill, and shares some highlights from his own family's European holiday last year. "Here are my five recommendations for places to visit in Europe after attending the Balance Festival in Tisno, Croatia.
"I did this trip last year with my family, and here are some of our highlights from traveling around Europe for two months."
1: Dubrovnik, Croatia
Since we are starting our journey in Tisno, Croatia, you can't miss heading a few hours south to Dubrovnik. I suggest staying in the Old Town, within the city walls. Explore the medieval stone fortress, walk the city walls for the best views of the Old Town, and enjoy some fantastic restaurants within the ancient city.2: Venice, Italy
Take a short flight from Dubrovnik to Venice. There's so much to see and do in this magical city. Highlights from our trip include Piazza San Marco, the Rialto Bridge, taking a gondola ride through the canals, and visiting Murano to see the Murano glass-making experience.
3: Rome, Italy
Travelling to Rome from Venice is easy by train and only takes about three hours. Must-see attractions include the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Vatican Museums, St. Peter's Basilica, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain. The best way to get around is on foot, so make sure you have comfy shoes, as you'll be doing a lot of walking.4: Catania, Sicily, Italy
From Rome, it's a short flight to Catania in Sicily. My family is from Sicily, so this was a must-stop on our tour. You can take an excursion to see the active volcano, Mount Etna. Make sure to visit the beautiful seaside town of Taormina, about 55km north of Catania, and head 66km south to visit Syracuse, both of which are stunning spots on the east coast of Sicily.5: Valletta, Malta
Take a 90-minute ferry from Sicily to Valletta, Malta, is a hidden gem in the Mediterranean Sea. We enjoyed seeing Fort St. Elmo, walking around the Upper and Lower Barakka Gardens, and our favourite family moment was going to the Blue Lagoon and swimming in the crystal-clear blue waters.Balance Croatia takes place at he Garden Resort in Tisno (southern Croatia) from 8-11 August, 2025.
