Golden Records alumni K21 is working on the follow-up to his debut album, 'Single Minded Civilian', with a release planned for the second half of 2015.

And with news he'll be showcasing at Brisbane's BIGSOUND in September, Australia's biggest annual music event of its type, K21 shares his favourite places to get drunk and eat Japanese food.

1. Ginza, Adelaide

We’ll start off with my happy place in my home town. With an all you can eat BBQ buffet on Sundays, Asahi on tap and a super-fine selection of sake this is the ULTIMATE place to get started, if the amount of food you eat doesn’t finish you. Say goodnight.

2. Masuya, Sydney

Premium sushi. Premium sake. Premium dollars spent. Premium regret the next day.

3. Ichi Ni, Melbourne

Every time I play a show in Melbourne I stop by this place. Their sushi is the bomb. And it’s steps away from The Espy, the perfect stumbling distance to check out some live music straight afterwards.

4. Sake, Brisbane

The place is called Sake. What more can I say? Don’t be scared.

5. Nao, Perth

Situated on Murray St this place is the real fkn deal. BEST ramen I’ve ever had hands fucking down, outstanding quality. They don’t serve alcohol in there though, so you’re going to have to pack a hip flask or drink a shitty, inconspicuous looking pre-mixed drink. Eghhhhh. Whatever works though.

K21 plays Northern Sound System 11 July.
