Dr. Chris Brown's love for animals is widely appreciated, but his passion and talent for photography isn't known to many.
A Bondi local, Australia’s iconic vet features on many a TV programmes, helps sick and injured animals around the country and is the author of several books. A lover of photography as well, Chris has recently announced his ambassadorship with Canon.
Joining Canon Australia alongside personalities such as Steve Waugh, Lisa Wilkinson and Guy Sebastian, Chris will feature as a judge for the Canon Light Awards; a monthly competition by photographers, for photographers.
“Besides being an esteemed veterinarian and highly-regarded TV personality, Chris is great with a camera and has an incredible dedication to capturing moments in new and creative ways,” says Jason McLean, Director – Consumer Imaging, Canon Australia. “No one sees it like Chris does; we’re thrilled to have him on board as a Canon Ambassador, where he can share this perspectives and skills.”
In line with his love for all creatures big and small, Chris has set the brief for the competition this September as 'Pet Personalities'. Here are some of his personal favourite shots:

“This is ‘Stubby’, a pet piglet from country Queensland. He was born with only one trotter and three deformed legs, but as you can see has an irresistible spark. A photo of Cricket. This was a shot taken after Cricket was running around the yard playing and she had just come inside, in her happy place. “I raced around, kneeled on the floor and sat there with the camera looking at her and she looked around at me. Because she was in a happy place and she was high off the ground and looking around, she was in her moment. She flashed me a look that she was ready.”(Shot with 1D-X 70-200mm lens)
