Going straight for the throat with their teeth-sinking barrage of rock and rage is Brisbane two-piece, Faux Bandit with their new single ‘Kill The Comedown Bug’.
As frontman Adam Brill states, the song is about: “embracing the bitterness and frustrations involved with failing to connect meaningfully to a person”.
Featured on their 'Flex' EP, the guys have compiled their Top 5 list of influential hi-fives. We're impressed.
1. Top Gun Double Five
As the sun blazes down upon the four volleyball players, the intense connection between a sweaty, but surprisingly not-covered-in-sand Tom Cruise and his partner (aka Dr. Mark Greene from Naughties TV show 'ER') is made very clear through the support they give each other in the match, peaking when the duo give each other a powerful hi-five with a quick, second down-low in the follow through. 2. Arnold’s Flex Five
Schwarzenegger chews a cigar and blows smoke in an old man’s face, unimpressed. Unimpressed, that is, until he hears the voice of his best friend, Dillon. Their twisted hi-five, hand-shake blend allows them to push against each other to reveal their heaving biceps to the camera and the camera thanks them for it. 3. Grab ‘Em By The High Five
Powerful men engage in the ancient art of debate. In this Republican debate we see Donald Trump make a power-move against his opponent in the form of an aggressive and unstoppable hi-five. Ben Carson is in the middle reminding people about something he told someone in 2003 as Trump throws his hand up in Carson’s face in fierce agreement. Carson is momentarily stunned and Trump, realising Carson's defences down, forces himself upon Carson’s hand. 4. Power Rangers versus Ninja Turtles
I know what you’re thinking: that’s a handshake, not a hi-five. Oh, but it’s not about the leaders of each group making the decision to work together for the good of justice: it’s about the Black Ranger and Raphael’s unbridled joy to be in the same room as each other (at 2 mins 46 secs).Always the best character in each of their respective shows, here they cannot hold back their delight as the Black Ranger lets out a quick jolly air-punch before hi-fiving his new, best friend.

5. Tango & Cash
In this scene Sylvester and his friend’s camaraderie is celebrated in the artful blending of hi-fives and cinematography. The pair engage in a hearty hi-five, but instead of pulling away they leave their hands against each other and interlock their fingers while keeping their hands, now holding, in the air above their heads.The camera cuts to a close-up of the hands: a symbol of mateship and love. Suddenly the camera zooms out to reveal the image to be from a newspaper press photo. Was their initial hi-five just practice for the press? Only they know now.
