5 Favourite Vintage Clothing Stores Darcie Haven Shops At Regularly

Darcie Haven
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and some beyond.

Raised on a farm in a remote corner of WA, and now Melbourne based, Darcie Haven is redefining the boundaries of diaristic songwriting in Australia.

Blending unfiltered, raw songwriting with gritty indie-pop production, her lyrics leave you thinking you've overheard something you shouldn't. She recently released her sophomore EP, 'Angel Of The Apocalypse'.

"I wrote these six songs sitting in the rubble of bad decisions. It's ambitious and dark and dramatic, and I'm so proud of it. Visually and sonically I've never felt more like myself, and I hope you can feel it 🫀."

The EP's focus track being 'Girlfriend'. "'Girlfriend' is a tongue in cheek narrative about navigating casual relationships," shares Darcie.

"It's about that muddled grey area, where you feel like the more you give someone, the less you get, until you're left with the spiralling thought that maybe you're not the only one this person is seeing."

Next week, Darcie will be in Brisbane for showcase performances. It's the ideal opportunity to discover why she has already supported the likes of Vance Joy, DMA'S and San Cisco, as well as opening for Boy & Bear this December on the steps of Sydney Opera House.

Here, Darcie leans into her other love; op-shopping, with five of her favourite vintage clothing stores in Australia.

Lost and Found - Fitzroy (Melbourne)

I've never walked out of Lost and Found empty handed. It's my go-to for any unique vintage piece I might need for a shoot, a show or anything in between. I found the skirt I wore for the 'Doomsday' music video here.

Neighbourhood Vintage - Fremantle

Neighbourhood is my favourite vintage store in my home town. They have been kind enough to dress me for a few shows and actually hosted one of my last ever pop-ups. We had lots of fun there.

So Familia - Newtown (Sydney)

The best second-hand store in Sydney, in my opinion. Such funky, bright, varied pieces and the employees are always so kind. I've had lots of fun trying bits on in this shop.

Goodbyes - Brunswick (Melbourne)

Goodbyes have a few locations across Melbourne, but the Brunswick one is where I usually hit the jackpot. I found a pair of brown, Diesel cargo pants for $30, and they are now my most prized possession.

Trasho Mondo - Northcote (Melbourne)

Trashomondo is my local. I live just around the corner, so naturally it's become my regular haunt anytime I need some retail therapy. Trasho is where I found the dress I wore on the 'Angel Of The Apocalypse' cover, so it will always have a special place in my heart.
