Melbourne pop-punk rockers All Regards recently released their debut EP, 'All Our Dreams Turn To Nightmares', the product of passionate creation, nurtured chemistry and the pop-punk drive to write honest, vulnerable music while having a bit of fun with it.

Produced by Jack Newlyn (Between You & Me, Eat Your Heart Out), the EP wears its heart on its sleeve as it deals with themes of grief, loss and addiction, channelled into four tracks that tackle self-reflection while offering listeners a space to relate and find their own journey with it.

"'All Our Dreams Turn To Nightmares' is about that feeling when things seem to be going too perfectly in life, then all of a sudden there's a complete backflip on how you thought everything would play out," shares vocalist Jeremy Allen.

"Over the last two years, all of us in the band have dealt with things that have caused us to lose control of our lives. In one way or another, each of us has dealt with death, grief, addiction, burnout and/ or depression causing us to spiral.

"This inspired the songs on our debut EP, and we channelled those feelings into four cathartic tracks that we're now very proud of."

All Regards, who'll launch the EP with a hometown show next week, have also released a music video for EP track 'Pieces'. "Lyrically the song was a cathartic patchwork of different stories from the last few years," shares Jeremy.

"The first is from a couple of years ago – an old friend of mine from high school went missing, the police searched and investigated but this person was never seen or found again.

"The other is about someone who I was close to – they committed suicide and left no note or reason as to why they made the decision they did. The song explores my feelings of regret, recurring dreams, denial and anger."

Winding down from months of writing, recording, producing and releasing, All Regards take a breather by indulging in creature comforts. The four-piece take a trip down memory lane, walking scenestr through their collective favourite video game series of the 2000s. "These games are an absolute nostalgia-trip for us," the band says.

5: FIFA

Starting at the bottom with #5, we have 'FIFA'; 'FIFA 07' went hard back in the day, before it became complicated and the kids started beating us online. . . The soundtracks were great for broadening our horizons and exposing us to music outside of pop-punk and grunge too.

4: Spyro

The original 'Spyro' trilogy takes our #4. Technically these were late '90s, but the last one came out in 2000 and the whole series is an all-time favourite, so we're going to claim it.

3: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

Tony Hawk's 'Pro Skater' and 'Underground' sits comfortably at #3. Outside of the game itself, everyone knows the soundtracks on these games were huge! Talk to anyone and we guarantee they'll tell you they have fond memories of the series.

2: Grand Theft Auto

Coming in at #2 is 'Grand Theft Auto'. The early GTA games from the 2000s were elite. The standouts were obviously 'San Andreas' and 'Vice City' stories, absolute classics!

1: Guitar Hero

Our all-time favourite has to be 'Guitar Hero'. 'Guitar Hero 3' and 'Guitar Hero World Tour' were top tier. A few members of the band have mentioned these games were part of their gateways into music and picking up the guitar for real. We would play these games for hours, and we can thank 'Guitar Hero' for giving us our first taste of System Of A Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Bullet For My Valentine and Oasis.

"We would also like to give a special mention to the entire 'Singstar' catalogue; who didn't love singing along to their favourite songs with a bunch of your best friends and family?!

All Regards launch 'All Our Dreams Turn To Nightmares' at Berry Bandroom (Melbourne) 22 November.
