2019 Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival

A weekend of world-class brews and succulent BBQ awaits at Beer & BBQ Festival 12-14 July at Adelaide Showground.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Frothy fun times return to Adelaide Showground in July for the fifth annual Beer & BBQ Festival (BBF).

From mouth-watering meats to bubbling brews, not to mention a smoking line-up of live music, Beer & BBQ festival is a three-day Sunday session for everyone, including kids and dogs.

While keeping true to their reputation of outstanding American BBQ and ethos of collaboration, BBF expands their food line-up to offer a bigger and more diverse selection, including international BBQ styles from Asia and beyond, a stack of local BBQ heroes and culinary world premieres.

Making their BBF debut this year will be Melbourne's kings of Southern-American BBQ Burn City Smokers as well as Sneaky Pickle, who will be serving their authentic brand of whole hog with a touch of tex-mex.

On the other side of hospitality, Mal Meiers and Simon Bryant are teaming up to raise money and awareness for Food For Thought, which supports the mental health of people working in hospitality.

And it just wouldn't be BBF without the biggest line-up of brewers and cider makers in Australia plus a range of wine, gin, bourbon and alcoholic kombucha.

This includes the Transcontinental Collaboration Series with Collective Arts Brewing of Canada and six Australian brewers creating beers that will be available exclusively at the festival.

To celebrate BBF's fifth birthday they have partnered with craft beer industry leaders Pirate Life to produce a limited edition Hoppy Amber Ale, in a specially designed can featuring the festival's public face Kevin Bacon the pig.

Keeping the party rolling all day and night is a line-up of live music featuring the festival's first-ever international guest, DJ Yella - straight outta Compton and the man behind the decks of NWA.

Punk favourites Frenzal Rhomb bring the noise to close out the main stage on Friday night, while Saturday will see Aussie rockers You Am I 'break like the wind' when they become Spinal Tap to perform 'The Majesty Of Tap'.

Add to the line-up Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, all-girl Queensland punk outfit VOIID, Moaning Lisa and a special DJ set from Sampology, and BBF in 2019 is looking like the tastiest way to spend your weekend.
