Like the idea of a shopping tour but not so keen on the idea of spending a lot of cash? Julie and Kelly from You, Us, And A Bus can teach you how to blitz the bargains.
Founded in May 2009, the Adelaide company have been driving local fashionistas around to all of the cities best op shops in the hunt for the best bargains to be found.
Some of the benefits of joining the tours (besides being chauffeured around) include: morning tea, exclusive discounts and specials, as well as the social experience of meeting new people and having a lot of fun while shopping on the cheap.
As well as the general tours, the company offer private customised tours for a number of special events, including: hens parties, baby showers, birthdays and more.
A quick look at their website reveals some of the bargains that former tour guests have snapped up on tour at various op shops around Adelaide. A gorgeous bracelet by American designer Sigred Olsen was purchased for $5 at Cathedral Op shop on King William road. A stunning pair of Gold sequenced shoes by the high quality Australian footwear brand Wittner, found for only $10 at a St Vinnies store the tour stopped at, and an even more fabulous collection of shoes, accessories and clothes!
By shopping at op shops you not only have the advantage of finding one of a kind items and vintage pieces at bargain prices, but you are also helping out the local community through supporting the charity shops in their efforts to help the less fortunate. A large amount of charity programmes in the community receive their funds from the income generated by op shops.
So if you are in the mood for bargain hunting but not sure about where to begin, the You, Us, And A Bus tours might be a good option to consider.
You, Us, And A Bus run monthly tours, to finish the year they'll be op shopping on 17 October, 14 November and 5 December.
