Handmade accessories take centre stage with Woodfolk: an Australian brand run by Julia Denes.
A woman with ten years of experience in the fine jewellery industry and a flair for designing the perfect additions to the wardrobe of 'the authentic woman', Julia collaborates and works closely with artisan families in Nepal. She has committed herself to the brand and loves working with small businesses and women-focused organisations.
The brand prides itself on demonstrating a fair and balanced alternative to businesses seeking to trade alongside third world countries, supporting the people in Nepal through entrepreneurship.
Julia found her love for wood and ceramics as a qualified jeweller. She found them to be earthy, subtle and quiet and were a representation and extension of who she was as a person. Using sustainable materials was also a priority for her.
“I felt passionately about creating pieces that do not impact our environment,” she says. “Our world is already filled with so much stuff, and I certainly didn't want to add to it.
“We use sustainable materials for example wood, ceramic and cotton, that nature has provided us with without having to look hard to find them... These materials go through the cycle with us, and when no longer needed, can be turned into something else, or recycled.”
Woodfolk features carefully crafted wooden necklaces, earrings and bracelets, as well as cotton and wool knit scarves, handwoven bags and stone homewares.
Boasting detailed designs and styles paired with reasonable prices, Woodfolk is the perfect collection of products for the environment-conscious fashion lover.
Accessorise yourself and your home, naturally, with Woodfolk.
