These are all things Victoria's Secret casting director Sophia Neophitou told the New York Times about model Kate Upton last year, explaining why the underwear brand "would never use Kate". Neophitou added that Upton looked "like a soccer player's wife".
Here's hoping Victoria's Secret like soccer, then, because the 20-year-old swimsuit starlet is in their newest catalogue, modelling the brand's black Body bra.
The New York Post reports that Victoria's Secret were forced to "rethink their opinion on the model" after Upton's popularity tripled over the past year.
It's actually not the first time Upton has posed for Victoria's Secret. She modelled lingerie and sleepwear for them in 2011, and there's some speculation that the shot used in the new catalogue may actually have been dug out of the archives.
Either way, it's a surprising about-face for the brand, and one that will be the talk of the fashion world if Upton ends up appearing in the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in November. Stay tuned.
