The days of stigma associated with buying clothes from Op shops are long gone, today local Salvos or St Vinnies are often the first stop for fashionistas looking for unique, vintage pieces at an affordable price.
The Salvos stores are one of those making an appearance at the 2015 National Op Shop Week. They'll be launching The Style Army campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of supporting op shops.
During National Op Shop Week (23-30 August) The Salvos will be bringing the store to you with the 'Salvos Street Boutique' and a fashion show in various locations throughout Australia.

Fashion savvy shoppers in Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT can look forward to a visit from The Style Army which will be showcasing vintage trends galore.
For those in need of a little style advice, the TV fashion commentator, eco/ op shop fashion blogger and brand ambassador for the Salvos Stores, Faye De Lanty, will be there to guide you along.
The Salvos have been helping Australian families and individuals in need now for over 150 years. As well as a large variety of preloved clothing the Salvo Stores also sell furniture and goods that have been donated by the Australian public. Volunteers and staff sift through bags of donations making sure that all clothes donated are clean and in good wearable condition.
So instead of heading off to the local shopping centre this weekend to satisfy your fashion cravings, why not head into your local Salvos and pick up something that is not only unique and one of a kind, but also goes to a good cause by helping out the community.
National Op Shop Week runs nationally, 23-30 August.
