Eley Kishimoto is the next big name to keep an eye on in the fashion world, coming straight from their hometown in London.

The London-based fashion and design company is primarily known for its print design, focusing on womenswear fashion and accessories. However, Eley Kishimoto also creates numerous products to display their print designs, such as wallpaper, furniture and furnishing fabrics, glassware and crockery. They also focus in areas usually ignored by fashion designers including the automative industry, architecture, and phone/computer technology and packaging, working with brands such as BMW motorbikes, Eastpak bags, Duvel beer, Incase (Macbook, iPhone, iPad accessories) and many more.

Eley Kishimoto1Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto, the current creative directors of French-based fashion house Caharel, began working together as Eley Kishimoto in 1992. They launched their first collection, 'Rainwear', in 1995, consisting of umbrellas, waterproof coasts and gloves, and were featured in their first official show in Autumn 2001. At the time, Eley Kishimoto was also producing table-ware, furniture, wallpapers and sunglasses. Since then, however, the duo has taken the world by storm, releasing a series of fashion collections that are now featured during London Fashion Week every year, as well as gracing the world's catwalks via work with Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, Alber Elbaz and Jil Sander, to name but a few.

Eley Kishimoto2This year, Eley Kishimoto will be launching a new collection, 'A Wallflower's House Party', featuring garments that have been based on prints released in their 2014 hand-printed wallpaper collection, and originally inspired by the studio's fashion archives of 22 years.

“Why be a wallflower at someone else’s party when you can be the belle of the ball at your own?” asks Wakako Kishimoto.

Eley Kishimoto3Eley Kishimoto4Their 2015 collection is supported by their long-standing expertise in pioneer printmaking, and offers total wall-to-toe coordination in all of Eley Kishimoto's most loved patterns. The studio sees no distinction between garment and wall surface, and believes that both can be adorned with the same pattern under the motto 'Print The World'.

Eley Kishimoto5Eley Kishimoto7Primarily striving to make the world a prettier place, Eley Kishimoto creates pieces that have clear intentions, are executed simply, and have creative flair, without succumbing to trends and fads. The company is now renowned for being associated with its freedom to decorate anything and everything. It is this print design aesthetic that is key to its works' identity.
