Nike Will Release Marty McFly's Power Laces Next Year

Marty McFly's Power Laces

Where we're going, we don't need laces.

When Nike released their 'Back To The Future II' Air Mags in 2011, they were missing just one thing — power laces. Their recreation of Marty McFly's fictional kicks was almost perfect, but true fans would never be happy until the shoes laced themselves up.

Luckily, legendary designer Tinker Hatfield is going back... to the future. Appearing at the Jordan Brand's Flight Lab space in New Orleans over All-Star Weekend, Hatfield was asked about power laces and dropped a bombshell.

"Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!"

Sole Collector notes that Hatfield didn't specify whether the power laces would show up on an Air Mag or some other shoe, but that's not really the point — the point is POWER LACES.

Appropriately enough, 2015 is the year that Marty McFly travels to in 'Back To The Future Part II', so it's entirely possible that Hatfield could have dropped the power laces earlier but didn't want to cause a time paradox. Good lookin' out, Tim.

Now, when's 'Jaws 19' coming out?
