Eleven years ago a Brisbane designer with great imaginings, immense talent and a wonderful sense of whimsy started a market stall with her handmade designs.
Eleven years later and MAIOCCHI is a $3 million a year fashion manufacturing powerhouse with three Brisbane retail outlets and one store in Paddington, Sydney. Maiocchi has over 60 national stockists throughout Australia as well as a successful ecommerce site and employs over 20 people plus many more through local sub-contractors.
Led by label owner and designer Deanne Mayocchi, the magic of Maiocchi was celebrated recently with a series of High Tea events in her Paddington store Deanne’s fresh, figure-flattering shapes in a celebration of colour, print and style; inspired by florals and featuring exclusive Japanese cottons, are personalised with handmade details, quirky touches and delightful textures and trims. Maiocchi is proudly and affectionately designed and made in Australia.
Maiocchi is loved and worn by the likes of Robin Bailey and Georgie Gardner, Sonia Kruger, Melissa Downes, Emily Jade O’Keefe, Sigrid Thornton, Kate Richie, Kate Miller-Heidke, Symantha Liu, Larissa Waters (Greens Senator), Ella Hopper (Killing Heidi).
Maiocchi’s spring 14 collection, “Kiss and Tell” will be shown at the Mercedes Benz Brisbane Fashion Festival in August and Ekka Woolmark Parades, and is available for sale from July online, and in store.
