Sydney fashion label Mad Love has infused punk rock chic with boho festival fever for the Y.O.L.O Summer 2013 collection (for those who aren't fluent in Drake-ese, 'YOLO' is an acronym for You Only Live Once).
Inspired by summer style, the collection mixes trashed denim, vintage florals, leather, studs and leopard prints with the Mad Love attitude.
After all, nothing says YOLO like sexy boyfriend-style leopard and plaid shirting half-tucked into leather look minis and skinnys; bombers paired with raw-edged patchwork denim mini shorts; and crew-neck tanks with super low side-action.
Think monochromatic tribal prints in black and white, and blood-red vintage roses offset by pastel metallic knits and soft rainbow animal-print separates, given a playful twist by cheeky slogans and pink and red polka-dot knits.
Spewing forth from the mind of designer Gil Lawrence (creator of Frenchie-chic brand Toi et Moi), Mad Love's aesthetic is to combine easy, everyday shapes with unique artwork and colour concepts to build collections loved by fashion nomads across the globe.
All bases are covered with transeasonal essentials like the Scrap Heap ombre trashed denim dress, the Entourage leaopard skinnys and the Beastie Boy coated denim bomber, perfect for layering up when unpredictable weather strikes.
Mad Love urges people to "grab the bull by the horns, live every day like it's your last and stand out from the crowd", because, hey, YOLO.
