On March the 28th at the Greenhouse Factory restaurant, located in the beautiful Coolangatta, a passionate platform opened for vegans and supporters for animal welfare.
Everyone was greeted kindly and offered a beautiful, bubbly, coconut-tasting cocktail or a just as amazing, non-alcoholic juice which was lovely. Being able to mingle and drink while being surrounded by so many supportive and likeminded people was an amazing treat.

After we were treated to some delicious vegan canapés, we all had a sit down and listened to some speeches by the sponsors of the night, Lush and Pana Chocolate, and also Brisbane’s own Essena O’Neill, a prominent blogger in the vegan scene. A speech was also given by the night’s organiser Abby, and it was so refreshing to see such passion and vigour put into a speech about something that everyone in the room was already so evidently passionate about. The air itself was emotionally charged.

We then had another break, in which we were served more amazing vegan bits, this time a bit more filling. We even had a dessert option with the Pana Chocolate tasting going on in the background.
It then came to the time of the night in which we all observed the cruelty-free fashion showcase of some notable designers, one which had even broken into the New York fashion week. It was great to see homegrown talent alongside such talented make-up artists and designers – it really was an amazing and supportive night.

And for people who are still skeptical of the vegan movement, this night was a testament to our resilience and willingness to be a voice for the voiceless and persevere for a world of cruelty free but luxurious items.
