Tucked away in Byron Bay is a design studio churning out sustainable, wearable products that are built to last.
Creating jewellery and clothing, Polli prides itself on not following trends. Their range is designed with “thought, detail and care.” One of their main aims is to be an environmentally and socially responsible business.
In 2002, the brand was founded by Sydney designers Tess Lloyd and Maja Rose. Polli is perhaps best known for its stainless steel jewellery range, which evolved over time. The collection branched out into timber territory, experimenting with painted and printed finishes and attempting to find just the right patterns to appeal to a wide audience.
The two founders shared an interest in design with a sustainable element, as well as craft culture and, of course, fashion. The original products of their collection were influenced heavily by Japanese and Danish paper designs, along with nature and architecture.
Just two years ago, new directors Brooke Johnston and Sarah Thornton took over, and have since kept the brand alive and well. Together, with their fashion-infused backgrounds, they have an extensive knowledge when it comes to what's trendy, what's sustainable, and what's cool.
On their site, shoppers can find new collections in rose gold, stainless steel, wood and gold. Here you'll find stunningly intricate designs and products such as earrings, bracelets, rings and necklaces. Delving further into Polli will have shoppers discovering clothing, homewares and gifts. There are ceramic planters, bowls, candles and pots aplenty. The clothing range is limited, but features adorable prints ranging from fluffy clouds to floral fantasies.
