Bianca Mavrick is a contemporary jeweller and object maker who works across a diverse palette of precious and everyday materials.
She handcrafts bold, unique and colourful jewellery and is known for oversized earrings and one-off necklaces. Inspired by the anti-design movement of the 1980s, Bianca is fascinated by urban sub-cultural tribes and the experience of Australian life. Her works draw on her experiences growing up in a Greek-Italian family in Queensland.
Hosting a workshop for all to create their own contemporary pieces, Bianca will teach beginners how to make resin jewellery by using fun models from her own collection.
After the workshop you'll walk away with a resin necklace, brooch and earrings – all made by you – as well as a creative kit with tools, handmade moulds, opaque and transparent colour pigments, glitters, shimmer powders, shaping/ sanding tools and a worksheets explaining resin 101. All you need to bring is your creative mind and a crafty sense of adventure.
'DIY Resin Jewellery' will be held at Work-Shop Brisbane, 29 August.
