Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival has unveiled the designers, runway shows and award presentations set to feature at the event this March.
The country's largest consumer focused fashion, beauty and business event, Melbourne Fashion Festival sees leading ready-to-wear designers from around Australia present new collections to consumers. Fashion fans can 'shop the runway' with over 100 designers to choose from, including Tululah, Bec & Bridge, Mulholland, Jagger and Keepsake.
Louise Asher, Minister for Tourism and Major Events praised the event, which attracts thousands of visitors from across Australia.
“The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival puts Australia's fashion industry on a global stage and showcases Melbourne as one of the world's premier cities for retail and design” she said. "The Festival plays a critical role in stimulating retail spend, developing local skills and encouraging tourism to Victoria,”
Featuring both free and ticketed events, the weeklong Festival launches with a runway event supported by Vogue Australia and featuring collections from top designers including Goot, Christopher Esber, Rachel Gilbert and Ginger & Smart. Kaftan designer Camilla Franks also heads to Melbourne for the debut of the Grand Showcase, a runway presentation using the some of the world's best production teams, stylists and beauty directors.
Alongside the runway events, the Festival champions new designers with the Tiffany & Co. National Designer Award and the National Graduate Showcase. Visitors can also enjoy beauty workshops and VIP during the event.
Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival runs from Monday March 17 to Sunday March 22
