Stand out from the crowd and express yourself with the latest collections from Dr. Martens (DMs).
Dr. Martens continues to break barriers and set the pace with their latest collaborations. A genius and iconic collaboration with New York’s renowned Metropolitan Museum Of Art gives the Met 1460 boot, while the other collaboration with the luxurious Swarovski crystals gives a Swarovski-embellished 8-eye 1460 boot.
The Met 1460 boot is printed with The Great Wave, paying homage to arguably the world’s most recognisable piece of Japanese art. It is a tribute to the enduring energy and inspiration of Hokusai’s work — with the Original Icons offering a new canvas. Stages, pavements and factory floors are the gallery — the wearers are collectors.
Art should be seen everywhere. And the DM Met boots and shoes have miles to go. Built from Masterpiece, a coated leather with a fine grain texture designed to imitate a canvas, the boot is also detailed with antique gold eyelets and tonal laces with antique gold tips.
The Met 1461 shoe is built from the same grained leather and printed with another image from Hokusai’s ‘36 Views of Mount Fuji’ series. Fuji from Gotenyama at Shinagawa on the Tokaido shows a crowd gathered for a picnic under the cherry blossoms at Gotenyama. The shoe also features tonal laces with antique gold detailing and is finished with DM's signature yellow welt stitching.
The collection also includes a backpack made from Masterpiece leather and printed with The Great Wave. The Met backpack is fitted with rugged Kiev leather at the straps, gusset and handles, and is finished with antique gold hardware and a secure magnetic fastening.
Swarovski has been producing high quality crystals for over 125 years and the brand is synonymous with craft, precision and timeless appeal. The latest collection takes the 8-eye 1460 boot back to its punk roots using safety pins and chains adorned with Swarovski crystals. The 1460 boot is constructed from DM’s classic black Smooth, a hardwearing leather and built on a flexible DM sole and welted with the instantly recognisable yellow welt stitch.
The Swarovski x Dr Martens collection is available now. The Swarovski x The Met collection is available from 26 November.
