On December 12 2012, world renowned luxury brand Chanel opened its doors on King Street, Perth.
The opening — originally set for November 2012 — was pushed back to December just in time for doting husbands to spoil their wives and women to indulge for the summer Christmas season.
The boutique, designed by New York architect Peter Marino, has a luxurious modern-day-meets-classic atmosphere and is adorned with the latest in Chanel merchandise. The label maintains its classical style with its shoes, handbags, jewellery and watches leading to those beautifully crafted fabrics which remind you why Chanel remains at the top of its game.
Chanel joins labels Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Sass and Bide, Dilenttante and Louis Vuitton on Perth’s King Street and is the brand's sixth boutique to open within Australia, 24 years after the first Chanel boutique opened in Sydney in 1988. It seems a wise move, as the store has been full of Perthites happily wandering the floor after being greeted by a well dressed doorman.
Chanel Australia and New Zealand managing director David Blakely is happy with the new location, saying: “We’ve looked around and we believe that it is the best looking luxury street in Australia.” And let’s face it, who doesn’t want to have a little luxury in their lives?
