Inspired by the feminine aesthetic embodied by some of the worlds most glamorous women of the past and present – including icons such as Sophia Loren and Kim Basinger – Agent Provocateur's autumn/ winter line is a celebration of womanhood and natural sexiness.
Sofia Loren's voluptuous beauty was the inspiration behind the 'Vera' corset which features ribbon lacing and eyelet detailing. Perfectly suited to be worn underneath the pearl trimmed, floor-length 'Francis' gown. Further channeling Sophia Loren is the sensuous '50s style bodysuit 'Nicolle'.
The simple silk negligee gained icon status after Kim Basinger's famous strip tease in the film '9½ Weeks', and it's that sensuous aesthetic that Basinger embodied in the '80s that is the influence behind the ultra-feminine, soft-focus touch that embraces many of this season's pieces. One such piece is 'Sonia', a form highlighting corset of silk panels and sheer tulle. Other '90s inspired pieces include 'Stephanee' in eye-catching midnight blue, it comes with a waist-cinching suspender to highlight an hour-glass figure.This season's more contemporary ranges have been inspired by Lara Stone. Stone embodied the womanly Boticellian beauty ideal that broke through the fashion industries emphasis on waif-like figures. Such pieces include the 'Mona' dress, in rich navy duchesse silk with a low-cut back and trimmed with crystals the colour of peach. An emphasis on fun for todays contemporary woman is the inspiration behind the silver sequin strapping, bow featured 'Sherrie' playsuit.
